Tepoztlan is set in the mountains of central Mexico, one hour to the south of Mexico City in the state of Morelos. The village is situated in what is known as the sacred valley, surrounded by high rugged volcanic cliffs. The area has been settled for thousands of years as witnessed by the many cave paintings in the encircling mountains. The climate is alpine/tropical with pine trees and tropical plants living side by side. A kind of Paradise? Come and find out.
But be warned - it can be difficult to leave.
